Teach For Malaysia: Not interested with it!

First, it is worth mentioning that I am a fan of Teach for America and Teach for India because the programmes are quite nice. If you have some extra time, it is worth spending your time watching the videos of the programmes on the Youtube. I find the videos are very interesting because it portrays the reality of being a teacher. As a consequence to the fame of Teach for America, can't we Malaysians come out with our own programme without being a copy cat?, the government launches Teach for Malaysia.

Okaylah, at first, I was quite positive about Teach for Malaysia because I have faith on the government. However, reality strikes me when I was talking about the programme with my friend whilst we were having our dinner. The conversation started with:

My Friend (MF): Have you ever heard about Teach for Malaysia?
Me: Yes. Why?
MF: It is a stupid programme.
Me: Gulp. Wahh. So bold. Why do say so?
MF: How can a teacher with little teacher training bring about changes in our educational system within two years?

;)

Many condemn KPLI (Kursus Perguruan Lepasan Ijazah) because they claim that, initially, those people never dream about being teachers. Due to unforeseen consequences, out of sudden, they made out their mind to either quit their jobs or stop searching for jobs and get involved in teaching profession. The same is also applied to the GSTT teachers (Guru Sandaran Tidak Terlatih). However, little has been commented on Teach for Malaysia. The way I see it, Teach for Malaysia is worst compared to the KPLI. The teachers from the former are required to spend only two years in school whilst the latter have to spend their entire life contributing to the Malaysian educational system. Yet, involving in the former will make one be very famous.

Yeah, it is better to make a shoutout on Facebook saying this;
"Hey Malaysians! Teach for Malaysia called me!"

compared to this;
"Hey Malaysians! Maktab called me!"

Jadi, kenapa, why do we need to HYPE the teachers from the Teach for Malaysia?

Dear government, please have faith in your teachers. We (Teachers) are the product of your teacher training education system. If we fail to be good teachers, why don't you blame your system. It is your system which moulds us into who we are.
