Character and Betrayal

Image
People who don't break character when they're betrayed, experts say, often have something else that defines them, like children, religion, a purpose in life; others who lose themselves entirely in their romantic relationships—and from what is observed, high-achieving women seem surprisingly prone to this—are more vulnerable to losing control. (source) When I was betrayed, I attempted to break my character and transformed myself into being the meanest and the most wicked woman ever lived in the betrayers' life. I study human and women hence to be one is not such a big deal. More, I had nothing else to lose as I have lost a lot in a game I did not agree on playing. Reminiscing my 10 months of misery, cursing words, harsh realities and heartbreaking nonsense, I am glad that I have successfully held myself from breaking my character and from being the meanest and the most wicked woman in the life of the people not worth mentioning.  Feeling betrayed and foole...

Pay attention? Not now.

source "Are you listening to me?" "Sh. Do not disturb me. I'm in process of becoming a better learner. Where was I just now?" Articles and researches across the printed as well as digital media have identified the virtues of daydreaming particularly in the area of: self-awareness, creative incubation, improvisation and evaluation, memory consolidation, autobiographical planning, goal-driven thought, future planning, retrieval of deeply personal memories, reflective consideration of the meaning of events and experiences, simulating the perspective of another person, evaluating the implications of self and others' emotional reactions, moral reasoning and reflective compassion [and the list goes on and on and on]. ( source ) Prior to the long list of virtues of daydreaming, scholars come up with a conclusion that daydreaming is cognitively good and healthy .  source The intriguing fact staggers me as I was brought up and taught...

It's Twenty Fourteen

Image
Twenty Thirteen Twenty thirteen is a bad show. I don't intend to remember any part of it but the year can be concluded as below: Twenty Fourteen I'm on my way to a destination I don't know where alone. I'm slowly giving up on life. An abundance of gratitude goes to twenty thirteen and the wonderful people I'd met throughout the year.

Death

When it is time, it is time.   Every day and night, human be a Muslim or a believer of other religions prepare themselves for their way home in the best way that they know. Too frequent, we are busy preparing ourselves for our journey that we almost forget about the journey of the livings that we are to leave behind.  When we, human, are born to earth, we are assigned by God different roles; some are major and some are minor. Both are important but the major counts the most. The major to me are the roles as a Muslim, a daughter/son and a sister/brother if applicable. I am born to earth to be a daughter of a wonderful married couple and later become the eldest of four. As the first symbol of love of this couple, I grow old with love, expectations and responsibilities. The three are well-blended in me that when Malaikat reminds me of death, the first that pops up in my head besides of my deeds and conducts is the lives I shall leave behind. I weep and...

Don't you see her, mom?

A month ago, as a result of students coming across the word 'New Year's Resolution' in their reading text, I made them list their 2014 New Year's resolution. The fact that I am teaching creative kids has always made me prepared myself for surprises in their work, be their idea or their bombastic word usage. Though I was as always prepared to read, digest and analyse my students' wonderful work, the resolution task brought me shock in regard to the existence of a worrying resolution. It was: Having an imaginary friend.  I was in shocked particularly because I believed that kids with imaginary friends were suffering from emotional issues as a result of loneliness, lack of love and lack of attention. For heaven sake, why would a kid seek to have an imaginary friend if unlimited amount of love, affection and attention are given to them? I presumed imaginary friend as a cause for concern thus having a kid who wishes to have an imaginary friend  by the end of 2...

My October

Image
Despite of my piling works and my not-getting-any-better fever, I managed to finish reading two inspiring books. The two are Life Without Limits by Nick Vujicic and Find Your Strongest Life by Marcus Buckingham. Life Without Limits. Life Without Limits is basically a compilation of advices told by a person without limbs. The man who is a strong believer of Christ frequently pinpoints his situation and limitations and  later explains on how he manages to deal it. He's successfully arranged his words thus people who are beautifully born with limbs will get inspired and have the guts to fight their limitations. I think that it is helpful for you to have a gist of this book by studying the chapters of the 272 pages book: If You Can't Get a Miracle, Become One. No Arms, No Legs, No Limit. Full Assurance in the Heart. Love the Perfectly Imperfect You. Attitude is Altitude. Armless But Not Harmless. Don't Let Your Face Plant Grow Roots. The New Bloke in the ...
